Pirate Bay Officially Charged with Copyright Violations - BitTorrent portal sure they'll win the case

After two years of evidence collection, officials in Sweden announced earlier this week that they would be filing charges against the owners of BitTorrent portal The Pirate Bay. Those charges have officially been filed against four of the owners who are being charged with assisting copyright infringement of 4 software applications, 9 films and 22 music tracks. The requested damages are $188,000 per person; however the plaintiffs in the case (including the major music labels) have until the end of February to file damage claims. The Pirate Bay folks are confident that they re going to win the case. They assure users that no matter what happens the site will remain active. ]]>
