Google Phone Rumors Have Returned - And Android Developer Challenge is still underway 30.11.1999 / Broadbandreports There are rumors circulating that Google has partnered with Dell to create the first Android phone. It is believed by some that the phone will be revealed at the 3GSM conference in Barcelona next month. However, industry experts argue that the rumor is likely to be false. Google has designed Android to be a platform for development with multiple companies; partnering solely with Dell on the hardware would run counter to this plan as well as to Google s history of partnerships. As these rumors continue to make their way around the web, Google has announced that they are extending the deadline for developers to submit applications to the Android Development Contest.
