Visitors to Microsoft's Windows Media website for Mac have recently discovered that the company is apparently no longer making a version of their Windows Media Player for the Mac platform. Instead of providing access to a download of the latest version, Microsoft now provides for download a free third-party plugin that works with QuickTime so users can open Windows Media files directly through QuickTime Player or QuickTime aware applications such as web browsers.
