Where object-oriented programming (OOP) encapsulates core concerns into a class, AOP encapsulates crosscutting concerns into aspects. An AOP system allows you to implement crosscutting concerns and express weaving, or composition, rules. Another AOP system component, the weaving processing model, realizes the implementation.'
